Ingredients and materials

  • 2 small ripe bananas, peeled (about 200 g)
  • 150 g fresh strawberries, washed and hulled by an adult
  • 250 mL pasteurised milk
  • 100 g plain pasteurised yoghurt
  • Measuring jug, individual cups, spoons and a blender

Make it together

  1. Confirm the selected milk, yoghurt and fruit against every participant’s dietary plan. Keep dairy refrigerated until needed.
  2. An adult washes and prepares the strawberries. Children can peel bananas, count portions and measure ingredients with support.
  3. Place ingredients in the blender. Fit the lid securely. An adult alone connects and operates the blender; children observe at a safe distance.
  4. Blend until smooth and check the final texture before portioning into individual cups.
  5. Serve promptly under the centre’s service procedure. Offer a small taste without pressure, and clean the blender safely after disconnecting it.

Before the children join in

  • This is a supervised tasting activity for children already eating these ingredients. It is not a replacement for infant formula or breastmilk.
  • A plant-based product may contain soy, nuts or other allergens and is not automatically a nutritionally equivalent milk substitute. Any alternative needs centre and family review.
  • Do not use frozen berries without following the current product instructions and centre procedure. This version uses prepared fresh fruit.
